Manufacturing Engineer - Kapco Grafton, WI

Primary Responsibilities



  • Ownership for the creation, sustainment and improvement of the manufacturing process
  • Provides the sales and quoting teams with manufacturability and process designed needed for new business
  • Provides the NPI process with information regarding the creation of the manufacturing process to launch new business. This includes, but is not limited to, machines, tooling, fixturing, programs, etc.
  • Creates and sustains the Engineering Master
  • Creates and sustains manufacturing documentation to execute the manufacturing process (work instructions, setup instructions, startup check sheets, etc.)
  • Performs engineered time studies
  • Sustains the PFMEA for the manufacturing processes owned and drives projects based on high RPN
  • Prioritizes work based on scrap, rework, NC, variance, and efficiency data
  • Drives safety and ergonomic projects for their owned manufacturing processes
  • Assists in manufacturing engineering technicians with daily troubleshooting
  • Builds capital expenditures plans to fit in the greater organization's capex plan
  • Builds business cases for the larger projects that impact the business
  • Continuously drives improvement for their owned manufacturing processes through visual factory, structured problem solving and elimination of waste
  • Continuously improves their owned manufacturing processes in safety, ergonomics, quality and efficiency
  • Understand CAD and possess some amount of programming or tooling knowledge
  • Read blueprints and specifications with the skills to help translate customer information straight into the production environment
  • Interact and engage with operators on the floor to guide and encourage efficiency
  • Present mechanical aptitude and offer problem-solving skills
  • Understand and properly use measuring and testing equipment


Education & Experience Requirements



  • This skilled, professional position requires technical training and 3 years' experience in a metal stamping, fabrication or welding environment.
  • Experience operating and technically supporting fabrication equipment
