The Opportunity

The American Red Cross is looking for a Corporate Regional Philanthropy Officer who will meet fundraising goals and objectives and connect with our donors to serve our mission. In this role, you will identify, engage, cultivate, solicit, and steward current and prospective regional donors in expanding their financial support of the work of the American Red Cross. This is a hybrid role where you work from home and office, and travel in the Gulf Coast Region to meet with donors.

The American Red Cross Texas Gulf Coast office is located at 2700 Southwest Freeway, Houston, TX 77098.

Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising Strategy

  • Collaborate with leadership to create and execute a comprehensive corporate fundraising plan.
  • Be at the forefront of Disaster Relief Fundraising to drive immediate impact to help donors support urgent Red Cross needs.
  • Monitor fundraising performance metrics and adjust strategies as needed to achieve targets.
  • Stay organized and on top of donor engagement with regular and consistent updates to Salesforce and ensure effective prospecting efforts.

Corporate Donors

  • Lead the charge in identifying and cultivating innovative corporate donor strategies to secure financial support for our initiatives.
  • Develop tailored, personalized, and compelling engagement strategies to enhance philanthropic impact and community involvement.
  • Assist corporations in achieving their goals in strengthening their brand, marketing, and employee engagement.
  • Articulate Red Cross programs, listen to corporations' needs and align programs to their interests.

Relationship Management

  • Build and sustain two-way strategic relationships with key stakeholders at corporate partner organizations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for corporate donors, ensuring their needs are met.
  • Inspire, mentor, and develop passionate volunteers who support our mission.

Collaboration and Outreach

  • Work with cross-functional teams to align partnerships with community needs and organizational objectives.
  • Represent the organization at events to build relationships and promote our mission.

Strategic, Metrics-Driven Fundraising Leader
  • Demonstrates strong ability to build and execute corporate fundraising strategies that achieve measurable revenue goals.
  • Comfortable managing performance metrics, forecasting results, and adapting plans to stay on track.
  • Highly organized, disciplined, and consistent in managing donor pipelines and follow-through.

Authentic Relationship-Builder

  • Skilled at establishing trust-based, long-term relationships with corporate executives and key decision-makers.
  • Brings a polished, professional presence and strong emotional intelligence in navigating complex stakeholder dynamics.
  • Naturally donor-centered, responsive, and committed to delivering an excellent partner experience.

Persuasive Communicator & Mission Storyteller

  • Able to clearly and compellingly articulate Red Cross programs, priorities, and impact to diverse corporate audiences.
  • Strong listener who can translate corporate interests into meaningful philanthropic alignment.
  • Experienced in developing tailored engagement strategies, proposals, and partnership narratives that inspire investment.

Responsive & Action-Oriented

  • Thrives in fast-paced, high-urgency environments and remains steady under pressure.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and adaptability when priorities shift quickly during disaster relief fundraising efforts.
  • Motivated by mission impact and able to mobilize corporate partners toward immediate action.

Collaborative, Community-Facing Partner

  • Works effectively across teams and functions to align corporate partnerships with organizational needs and community priorities.
  • Comfortable representing the organization at events and in public-facing settings with confidence and professionalism.
  • Able to inspire and engage volunteers and internal stakeholders with energy, clarity, and purpose.

Process-Oriented & Detail-Driven

  • Highly reliable in maintaining accurate donor records, communications, and activity tracking in Salesforce.
  • Strong follow-up habits, excellent time management, and attention to detail across multiple active relationships.
  • Demonstrates a proactive, systems-minded approach to prospecting and donor engagement.

In addition, strong candidates will offer:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of corporate fundraising, sales, and/or relationship management experience.
  • Proven track record of securing corporate donations and managing partnerships.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • A current valid driver's license and good driving record is required
  • Combination of candidate's education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description's minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $95,000, and the role is eligible to participate in an annual incentive plan based on individual and organizational performance.
