Job Description

Job Overview

Responsible for the preparing, cleaning and inspecting cylinders, ink trolleys and washing of parts to ensure quality and efficient printing.

Job Duties:

  • Efficiently identifies mounting, grinding, and engraving specifications, set up and correctly mount, grind, and engrave plates/nips for printed jobs.
  • Verify that plates are correct with copy, rewind and undamaged
  • Provide backfill for press support responsibilities
  • Clean plates and cylinders before and after job completion by cleaning, stripping and storing properly.
  • Maintain inventory with proper data.
  • Data collection and assistance fixing losses within the department.
  • Work with minimal supervision to effectively meet the needs of the Pre-Press area and plant as a whole. (i.e. roll wrap, housekeeping, assist on other equipment, material handling, etc.)

Qualifications/Requirements

Formal Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • HS diploma or equivalent/Technical experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Behaviors

  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills
  • Basic understanding of business mathematical calculations, weights, and measurements
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to details
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines and frequently changing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • SAP/AIMS proficiency; familiarity with Word & Excel
  • Previous experience with industrial operations, preferably in plastic films manufacturing or equivalent.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and good problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand and walk for a 12 hour shift
  • Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting
  • Frequent use of wrist and hands
  • Frequent stepping up and down from platforms
  • Exposure to a noise level above 85 decibels
