Overview

TRC has an opening for a full-time, benefited Archaeologist/Manager position supporting TRC's Cultural Resources Program in our Lanham, Maryland office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning and execution of cultural resource management projects, ranging from small-scale archaeological surveys to large, multiyear and multistate energy and infrastructure development projects and focused primarily in the mid-Atlantic and Northeast. Duties will include development and implementation of research designs, work plans, and schedules; analysis and reporting; client coordination; regulatory and tribal consultation; staff oversight; field equipment purchasing and maintenance; and assistance in proposal development.


Responsibilities

The Archaeologist/Manager will work closely with other TRC archaeologists, environmental staff, permitting specialists, and managers in TRC's Planning, Permitting, and Licensing practice. We are looking for an individual enthusiastic about their work with a strong commitment to client service and technical excellence. The successful candidate will enjoy the challenges of working alongside others in an innovative and professional environment, and of helping to develop effective solutions to both expected and unexpected project challenges.

The individual will step into an existing practice with a large client base - several with multi-year projects - and must be able to work well with those clients and establish his/her own relationships. The candidate also is expected to establish relationships with regional SHPOs and THPOs to ensure smooth communications and successful outcomes during project life cycles. The position will require a minimum of three days per week in TRC's Lanham, MD office. Travel for short-term field projects is also required.


Qualifications

Qualified candidates will possess the following:

  • Advanced degree in anthropology, archaeology, or related field (must meet Secretary of the Interior's Standards and be RPA-eligible).
  • Five or more years of progressive experience supervising archaeological projects in the mid-Atlantic and/or Northeast.
  • Knowledge and skills to work with digital field technology, GIS applications, and software.
  • A commitment to TRC's quality and safety goals.
  • Superior personnel, communication, and management skills to proactively and effectively work with TRC team members and clients.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to prepare professional documents with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to write quality technical reports and successful proposals in a timely manner, with a track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Experience with state and federal agency and tribal consultation, and excellent reputation within the professional, tribal, and regulatory communities.
  • Ability to work closely with engineers and other technical specialists as part of a larger project team.
  • Valid driver's license, with clean driving record.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range

USD $68,000.00 - USD $85,010.00 /Yr.
