We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Sr Marketing Specialist on our Marketing & Membership Experience team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 3 days a week in the office.

This position is responsible for the execution and optimization of multi-channel
marketing campaigns. Leverages marketing
automation platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Marketo to manage campaign
workflows, support audience targeting, and enable data-driven communication
initiatives. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate
implementation, automation, and continuous improvement of marketing operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Campaign Management

  • Query, extract, and manipulate large datasets from enterprise-scale relational databases to support multi-channel marketing campaigns.
  • Utilize campaign management tools and marketing automation platforms to build, execute, and optimize multi-channel marketing plans.
  • Collaborate with the Membership and Marketing teams to design data-driven plans that leverage customer insights to achieve business goals.
  • Develop and implement efficient campaign workflows, including data segmentation, targeting plans, and campaign frequency management.
  • Execute experimental test designs to optimize campaign performance, including A/B testing, segmentation strategies, and messaging variations
  • Execute multi-channel marketing campaigns across various platforms to drive customer acquisition, retention, and engagement.
  • Leverage direct and database marketing best practices to define success and help guide creative work.
  • Create vendor data specifications and manage relationships with external partners, ensuring data accuracy and quality in campaign execution.
  • Partner with campaign managers to understand business goals, timing, and targeting nuances to align data execution accordingly.
  • Continuously identify and implement improvements in query performance, data processes, and automation where applicable.
  • Manage campaign calendars, monitor in-flight campaign status, and resolve issues to ensure timely delivery.

Data Management and Reporting

  • Manage the execution of data pulls, list generation, and hygiene processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and consistency across all campaign channels.
  • Maintain data quality standards by resolving data discrepancies, deduplicating records, standardizing data outputs, and managing suppression logic in alignment with governance policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay informed on new data sources and industry best practices, recommending how emerging data can be utilized in future campaigns.
  • Monitor campaign data for anomalies and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Implement automation and scripting to streamline recurring data workflows and campaign execution processes.
  • Implement and document audience logic, segmentation rules, and suppression criteria to support transparency, auditability and operational efficiency
  • Execute rigorous quality control (Q/C) processes to validate data accuracy, audience logic, and campaign readiness prior to launch.
  • Retrieve, organize and fulfill data requests across teams, ensuring delivery of accurate, relevant and timely information.
  • Support reporting and analytics needs by generating insights that inform marketing performance, audience strategy and business decisions.

May include other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Marketing, or related quantitative field required. Master's degree preferred.
  2. 5+ years marketing experience with a focus on database marketing; 2 years in campaign management with a thorough understanding of direct marketing techniques, subscription/membership marketing, database issues regarding data quality, data manipulation and targeting methods.
  3. Advanced SQL
  4. 3+ years experience working with large relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, Redshift)
  5. Experience with campaign management tools required (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Campaign, Marketo, Unica, IBM Campaign).
  6. Advanced practical use of Microsoft Excel, Access, and Visio. Use of Business Objects (or similar) a plus.
  7. Excellent analytical skills and experience manipulating large data sets and recommending segmentation, testing, multi-channel targeting and campaign plans.
  8. Capable of exploring outside the box, proactively developing meaningful alternatives and translating them into actionable recommendations.
  9. Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, manage, and complete multiple projects.
  10. Must be detail oriented with high sense of accountability and integrity and very sensitive to deadlines.
  11. Strong written and verbal communications skills, especially the ability to express analytic results and technical concepts in "user friendly" ways to ensure they inform decision making.

This role is an exempt position, and the salary range for this position is $85,680-$113,526. This is the lowest to highest salary we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration, geographical location, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
