Description

The Senior Account Manager is a client-facing role responsible for managing and nurturing relationships with assigned agencies, brokers, and employer/purchaser groups. This position supports the Sales Relationship Manager (SRM) and Account Executives (AE) in delivering a consultative service approach, ensuring client satisfaction, and driving retention and growth. The role requires a strong understanding of Medica's products, operational processes, and regulatory compliance, along with the ability to resolve complex service issues and lead internal teams to deliver exceptional client outcomes.

Key Accountabilities



  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a defined book of business, managing escalated service issues and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Partner with SRMs and AEs to support renewals and new business processes, including financial analysis and reporting.
  • Educate and consult clients on Medica's programs, products, and administrative processes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and internal teams.
  • Lead and prioritize the work of internal teams to ensure timely and effective service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with contracts and regulatory requirements while aligning solutions with client needs.


The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in consultative sales or account management, with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills that foster trust and collaboration. They will possess a deep understanding of healthcare and insurance products, particularly self-insured models, and demonstrate the ability to lead teams and influence both internal and external stakeholders. A results-driven mindset, combined with financial acumen and a commitment to client satisfaction and retention, will be essential for success in this role.

Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years in a senior-level consultative or relationship management role


Strongly Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience in the healthcare or insurance industry
  • Health insurance product knowledge
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and resolve complex issues
  • State of MN Life and Health Insurance License, or obtain quickly after being hired
  • Cross-functional collaboration experience

This position is a hub-based role which requires onsite presence. Frequency is determined by business need as decided by leadership and may be up to 2-3 days a week. To be eligible for consideration, candidates must reside within a commuting distance to our Minnetonka, MN Office.

The full salary range for this position is $65,200-$111,800. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data. In addition to base compensation, this position may be eligible for incentive plan compensation in addition to base salary.
