Pay: $20 Hours: 10:45pm - 7:15am Days: Sunday - Thursday What is the job: The Production Operator is responsible for the set up and operation of equipment which blends/mixes/packages/transports liquid or dry chemicals that comprise our customer products. Position ensures the highest quality product at the lowest possible costs while meeting customer specifications and delivery requirements in accordance with Avient policies and procedures. Essential Duties: * Obtains the correct documentation for the batch. * Monitors production and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Troubleshoots equipment and processing issues. * Examines materials visually or physically to ensure conformance with established standards. * May take samples of materials to lab for evaluation and instructions on any batch adjustments if needed. * Ensures the correct ingredients are delivered to the work area. May be required to obtain the correct ingredients for mixing and weigh out the ingredients to meet the recipe specifications. * Sets up and starts any weigh-up or packaging machinery, checking all controls for adherence to operating/safety procedures. * Notifies appropriate personnel of any issues, problems or concerns in a timely manner. * Safely and neatly processes, batch off, screen, cut up, package and/or skid material to correct size/container according to customer specifications. * Accurately supplies/supports Production Operators with appropriate materials/functions to efficiently keep all equipment operational. * Performs all required machine cleaning. * Completes and maintains required paperwork and/or documents. * Follows and complies with all safety and work rules and regulations. * Maintains departmental housekeeping standards. * Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience * US High School diploma, GED equivalency or relevant experience preferred. * 2 years of manufacturing experience preferred. * Forklift Certification preferred. Additional Qualifications * Previous Plastics manufacturing experience is preferred. * Must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions in English; read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and product recipes/materials. * Must have mathematical skill to add, subtract, multiply and divide and apply these skill to weights, measures of volume and distance. * Must effectively communicate in writing and verbally, in English. * Competency in computer and PC software including email, internet, and MS office. * Must have manual dexterity for hand tools of various types. * Must be able to drive a forklift. * Must have problem solving skills and some mechanical aptitude. * A positive outlook and mindset through challenging situations and agility to implement changes as needed.
