Kitware is seeking a creative and energetic Director of Marketing to manage our brand, grow our reputation, and effectively engage with our communities. This is an opportunity to join the leadership team of the company behind popular open source software platforms such as CMake, VTK, ParaView, and 3D Slicer. In this role, you will creatively use your marketing skills and leverage the expertise of our Marketing team to promote Kitware's technical capabilities and services. Working with our technical teams, you will deliver compelling thought leadership that builds our communities, increases engagement, and leads to business opportunities. You will be a part of Kitware's leadership team, working together to ensure the success of the company while maintaining our commitment to being a great place to work.

In This Position You Will be Responsible For:
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and successfully implement comprehensive marketing strategies that are aligned with Kitware's mission and contribute to Kitware's business growth goals.
  • Marketing Expertise: Provide insights into current industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices for marketing technical services.
  • Brand Management: Oversee and manage Kitware's brand and image. Coordinate and provide guidance on the brand and image for Kitware's many open source platforms.
  • Marketing Budget Management: In collaboration with company leadership, develop the marketing budget and effectively manage resources to stay within that budget.
  • Team Leadership: Provide direction, inspiration, and mentorship for a small team of marketing professionals.
  • Analysis and Reporting: Track, analyze, and report on key performance metrics for marketing campaigns.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other teams (HR, compliance, IT, security, etc.) to ensure the success of the company.
Required Qualifications:
  • A degree in marketing, communications, or another relevant area for this role
  • 10+ years of marketing experience, with at least 5 years of experience at a technology services company
  • Exceptional people leadership skills, with 3+ years of experience successfully leading a team
  • Significant experience creating and following a marketing budget
  • Excellent project management skills and a proven track record of delivering marketing results that drive business growth
  • Experience collaborating successfully with others at the leadership level, and thriving in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
