Role & Responsibilities: Join NuoDB, a leading innovator of a high-performance, distributed, multi-cloud capable distributed SQL database. As part of Dassault Systemes, our novel database powers the globally renowned 3DEXPERIENCE platform underpinning a suite of product design, process management, and collaborative tools running in the cloud We are seeking a Senior Database Performance Test Engineer to join our team in Waltham, MA. Expertise in SQL database internals is important to help us assess, understand, and improve the performance of NuoDB. Your tools and tests will monitor and analyse all aspects of the performance of the NuoDB system in terms of query latency and throughput, disk utilisation, CPU usage, storage, network, and VM latency, etc. Your assessment of performance will determine the future direction of the product, and you will have the final say over whether new performance-related features are ready for production deployment. You will be working in close collaboration with product teams. * Explore NuoDB performance boundaries across various environments: public cloud, on-premise, and Kubernetes * Collaborate with product teams to design and implement performance test plans and benchmarks for new features * Monitor, assess, and analyze the holistic performance of NuoDB with CI/CD benchmarking tools * Own and enhance performance coverage by consulting with developers to identify areas for improvement and expansion * Investigate and diagnose performance issues to identify the root cause of the problems * Evaluate NuoDB performance compared to our competitor's database using industry-standard benchmarks * Clearly document performance results and share actionable insights with developers * Define and share best practices for NuoDB performance tuning Qualifications: * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent * Must have 15+ years of experience working as a Performance Engineer on a distributed product, ideally on another distributed database * A sharp QA mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to break down complex problems into simpler components * Strong experience with Linux and system/resource diagnostic tools such as perf * Experience in SQL, OO Python programming, and shell scripting (i.e., Bash) * Experience writing reliable performance benchmarks and workloads * Experience with monitoring & observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, etc Shape your career with 3DS! #WeAre3DS Inclusion statement In order to provide equal employment and advancement opportunities to all individuals, employment decisions at 3DS are based on merit, qualifications and abilities. 3DS is committed to a policy of non-discrimination and equal opportunity for all employees and qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth or medical or common conditions related to pregnancy or childbirth), sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, familial status, national origin, ancestry, age (40 and above), disability, veteran status, military service, application for military service, genetic information, receipt of free medical care, or any other characteristic protected under applicable law. 3DS will make reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with known disabilities, in accordance with applicable law.
