Balazs Nanoanalysis is a contract analytical laboratory owned by Air Liquide Electronics is world-wide leader in supplying gases, specialty chemicals and services to a wide variety of industries. Balazs Nanoanalysis operates analytical labs around the world serving both internal and external clients. We support clients in a wide array of industries including semiconductor, biotechnology, aerospace/defense industry, solar, energy storage, automotive and many others. Our highly-skilled chemists assist other scientists and engineers from companies in these fields to support a wide array of activities such as quality assurance, contamination studies, R&D and failure analysis.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

This position will:

-Drive compliance with industrial management and quality systems
-Manage quality key performance indicators
-Serve as primary point of contact for auditors and audit findings
-Deliver successful cost saving/revenue generation using the Lean Six Sigma (LSS) methodology.
-Lead and coach Yellow Belts through certification and continued project execution.
-Deploy Six Sigma/Lean White Belt training and Quality University as required
-Utilize Six Sigma/Lean methodologies to improve efficiency, improve capacity, and reduce costs.
-Promote cultural transformation through the use of change management tools and best practices.

  • Manage initiatives and implement sustainable solutions:

    • Partner with local managers to identify efficiency, capacity, or savings opportunities.

    • Drive implementation of global documents and strategies.

    • Deliver successful CI workshops, team activities, and projects, aligned with business objectives, that are simple and sustainable.

    • Lead teams through corrective and preventive actions as a result of audits, customer feedback, or GEB direction.

    • Lead and perform rigorous root cause analyses for closure of quality events, near misses or good catches as required.

  • Drive local continuous improvement and quality efforts

    • Align CI Projects and initiatives with ALEUS Strategy.

    • Communicate and report project progress, results, deviations and risks to relevant teams.

    • Provide updates on quality and CI KPIs and projects in the monthly site staff meetings and quarterly ops meetings with Balazs leadership.

    • Govern local project and activity progression through the DMAIC, DFSS, PDCA, or other continuous improvement route.

    • Manage and drive local 5S program(s).

    • Provide oversight and compliance with local measurement system analyses, training and qualification programs, and calibration programs.

    • Serve as an auditor on internal audit teams as required.

    • Manage SOPs and training associated with changes as appropriate.

  • Enhance Air Liquide IMS, Quality, and Six Sigma/Lean culture by educating and sharing best practices & tools:

    • Train and coach team members on the use of Continuous Improvement tools.

    • Drive Continuous Improvement awareness through the organization.

    • Support branding, marketing, and communication efforts for continuous improvement and quality.

    • Identify, translate and promote best practices globally.

    • Actively participate in the Continuous Improvement network.

    • Report project status and cultural milestones to local leadership.

    • Drive SMART (Safety, Mastery, Assets, Resilient, Transformation) Agenda.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; preferably in science, mathematics, engineering or a related technical field.

  • 3+ years experience leading others as a subject matter expert, shift leader, or supervisor.

  • 5+ years experience with quality systems and implementation.

  • Knowledge of QA/QC fundamentals including resultant data analysis and problem solving techniques (e.g. risk management, 5-Why, fishbone analysis, 8D, TapRooT).

  • Basic knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Willingness to pursue Six Sigma Green and Black Belts within first two years

  • Basic knowledge of quality systems, including ISO 17025:2017, ISO 9001:2008 and TS16949:2009.

  • Willingness to obtain a "lead auditor" certification in one or more quality systems within the first two years.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills; ability to lead through influence.

  • Skillful time management.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects.

  • Ability to influence and navigate leaders and employees through change in process and behaviors.

  • Minitab, JUMP, or other statistical tool proficiency.

  • Effective communication skills, including visual communication.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to make sound, data-based decisions

  • High energy; self starter is a must.

  • Strong fluency in the Google Platform, LIMS, PowerBI, and Oracle, as well as data management/business intelligence.

The Salary rate range for this position in California is $120,000.00 to $130,000.00
