As a Demand and Supply Lead in the Merchandising function, you play a pivotal role in optimizing the balance between customer demand and inventory supply. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong analytical mindset and expertise in demand & supply forecasting. You are responsible for ensuring product availability, minimizing excess inventory, and contributing to the overall success of the organization.

This hybrid role reports into our Demand and Supply Manager and is based out of New York, NY.

What You'll Do

Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities*

Drive regional top-down demand and supply planning process for region:

  • Support Regional Demand & Supply Planning Manager in building plans

  • Responsible for all functionality bringing plans from region to PM level

  • Follow up and optimize buying plans together with Merchandiser Leads

  • Ensure that bottom-up plans match PM top-down targets following the regional strategy

  • Follow up accuracy of selling plan & stock plan

  • Conduct analysis to identify planning opportunities together with Merchandise Leads

  • Localize regional price and gross profit strategy together with Merchandise Leads

Drive in and post season stock management:

  • Support Demand & Supply Manager in execution

  • Localize global stock management strategies

  • Forecast of reduction costs with Demand & Supply Manager and Merchandise Managers to ensure actions are followed

  • Follow up of selling & stock forecast to proactively identify needed actions

  • PM level responsibility

Drive and roll out developments:

  • Constant exploration and implementation of how to improve the field of buying and stock management in region

  • Contribute to global initiatives as business expert

  • Roll out way of working of new initiatives in region in collaboration with global support team

Qualifications

Who You Are:

  • University degree, preferably in Business, Economics/ Finance or similar

  • 5+ years' experience merchandising, stock management, buying or planning

  • Omni retail knowledge

  • Understanding of buying and planning, ideally with Assortment Office experience

  • Significant analytical skills and detail oriented, able to manage tasks with significant business impact

  • Strong technical ability to operate and be up to date with merchandising systems, tools, and reports

  • Understanding of stock management strategies and practices

  • Advanced Excel user, with experience working in complex files and buying tools

  • Structured way of working

  • Collaborative personality and good communication skills

  • Inclusive, positive, open to feedback, willing to multitask and learn on the job

Compensation: salary range is $98,957-$111,326 annually**
