Job Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Strategic Sourcing Engineer to join our team. This person will be a member of our Compression Systems & Services Americas Sourcing Organization, supporting the development, implementation, and management to provide Ingersoll Rand with optimal supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality, and delivery performance. The Strategic Sourcing Engineer builds and leverages strong working relationships with our engineering, operations and quality teams and key suppliers to ensure cost, quality, and delivery targets met, as well as works towards good supplier relationships to achieve maximum advantage for Ingersoll Rand and our customers.
Responsibilities
- Develop tools and reporting to drive efficiency in procurement operations
- Analyze data to identify productivity and net working capital opportunities for the business
- Lead process improvement for key sourcing initiatives
- Execute daily, weekly, and monthly reporting requirements
- Develop key commodity trend indices with corresponding business guidance
- Own sourcing IRX project gate process and schedule
- Understand and proactively address global supply chain risks in collaboration with the sourcing leadership team
- Records and tracks information as required for timely and accurate measure of performance regarding sourcing activities and savings.
- Identify gaps to goals and collaboratively develop and support countermeasures and activities to close the gap and exceed targets.
- Work to align strategies between commodity and sector localization, plant rationalization and similar
- Performs additional duties as assigned and participates in special projects as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or equivalent
- 5+ of progressively responsible job-related experience
- Experience using Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, is required. Proficiency using Excel at an advanced level (use financial and logical functions; works with multiple worksheets and workbooks; macro and pivot table creation and analysis, import and export information) is required.
Preferences:
- Proficient with Tableau and Qlik is a plus
- Previous lean manufacturing or 6 Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt experience a plus
- Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data, confirming its accuracy and adequacy, and using it to drive decisions as well as present results and business cases to management
- Oracle & SAP experience in a global environment is beneficial
- Ability to travel up to 20%
- Be a self-starter; motivated to drive continuous improvement in the sourcing functional process flow
- Analytical and curious to uncover opportunities for broader team
- Incumbent must have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated effective leadership and influencing skills and practices
