Job Summary:

As a Lead/ Senior Software Engineer your focus is on developing our OpenPath Passive Optical Network system. This includes gathering user requirements, defining system functionality, and writing code in various languages. The role of a Lead Software Engineer is to design high-quality and high-performing software and lead junior members of the team in implementation. This is an onsite role based out of our Rochester, NY facility and will be reporting directly to the Technical Director of SW Engineering.

You will make a difference in the following ways:

• Follow the software development life cycle to create software that assures the delivery of high-quality products to our customers
• Work closely with the product line manager to understand internal requirements.
• Develop flowcharts, layouts, and documentation for new functionality.
• Implement new functionality.
• Develop software tests, verification plans, and procedures

What you bring:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or another related field
• 6 or more years of software development experience, preferably in a related field.
• Experience with Agile development
• Experience with distributed systems
• Familiarity with relational databases
• Strong written, verbal communication skills and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working in a cross-functional environment
• Experience with Go, Angular, Docker and/or Podman
• Experience developing high availability systems
• Familiarity with multiple layers of the network stack

Applicants can expect a base compensation range of $110,000-130,000, plus benefits and additional incentives based on the level of the role. This is the reasonable estimate that Belden believes it might pay for this job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting. Belden may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law, and commensurate with the applicant's experience, qualifications, and geographical location.
