Description

Summary/Purpose of the Position:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Transactional Accounting Specialist to support our accounting operations in a fast-paced distribution environment. This role will focus on cash reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in day-to-day transactions and supporting operational efficiency across the supply chain.

Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities:



  • Perform daily cash and bank reconciliations across multiple accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure Accounts Payable invoices are recognized in the correct period, and resolve any issues in a timely manner by working with the AP team
  • Manage accounts receivable by ensuring timely and accurate billing, cash application, and proactive follow-up.
  • Perform inventory reconciliation, collaborating with warehouse, logistics, and procurement teams to address discrepancies and ensure accurate inventory valuation.
  • Support month-end close by preparing journal entries, reconciling key balance sheet accounts, and providing variance analysis related to distribution operations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and audit requirements related to transactional processes.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to streamline workflows and reduce transactional errors.
  • Work closely with supply chain, operations, and sales teams to align financial records with physical inventory and shipping activity.


Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+years of transactional accounting experience, preferably in the distribution, logistics, or supply chain industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and transactional accounting processes.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (CSD Infor products preferred or any other ERPs like Dynamics, SAP etc) and intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Very proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and financial software applications.
  • Experience handling inventory and COGS reconciliations in a distribution environment.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
