Opportunity Summary

The Project Accountant is responsible for the all accounting activity related to audio visual installation projects including project & budget creation in the accounting system's project module, revenue recognition, management of sales tax, and client invoicing among other duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Setup projects based on contracts, including project budgets, within Microsoft Dynamic's Great Plains (GP) Accounting software



  • Interface with Project Managers to determine status (percent-of-completion) of Audio Visual projects.



  • Recognize Revenue, based on information from Project Managers on percent-of-project completion, using the Project Accounting Module within GP.



  • Prepare client invoices based on proposal terms, payment schedule and project status. To include AIA type contractor progress billings. Enter invoice information into Cenero Data Systems (CDS)



  • Process project-related monthly sales tax invoices in support of CFO state sales tax reporting.



  • Interface and maintain information in CDS as required.



  • Respond effectively to sensitive customer requests, inquiries or concerns.


  • Position requires extreme attention to detail and accuracy
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned

Qualifications


  • Ability to comprehend and apply principles of modern algebra and equations.



  • Excellent communication skills required.



  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.



  • Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases.



  • Applicable industry certifications and training as required.





  • Read, analyze, and interpret the complex documents including product specifications, wiring diagrams, and architectural drawings.



  • Clearly and unambiguously communicate verbally or in writing.



Experience and/or Education



  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate accounting-related field; and/or two+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



  • Detailed working knowledge of computers (Windows based) and office software.



  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamic's Great Plains (GP) Accounting software preferred including the Project Accounting module



Skills



  • Applicant must have efficient Excel skills.



  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn an array of computer hardware and software.



  • Applicant must have the ability to multi-task



  • Complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.



  • Ability to prioritize and possess excellent problem solving skills



Physical Demands



  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard; and talk or hear.



  • Required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.



  • Must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds.



Work Environment

Location is our corporate headquarters. Monday through Friday five days per week. 1150 Atwater Drive, Malvern, PA 19355.
