Job Description

The Process Technician will have several key responsibilities split between operating equipment to produce commercial and developmental fabrics, troubleshooting and improving processes, acting as the manufacturing lead when scaling up new products from R&D, and leading continuous improvement projects. The primary purpose of this role is to produce commercial fabrics on the T1000, Phoenix and LM1 pieces of equipment. When production of commercial fabrics is not needed, this position is tasked with driving continuous improvement projects in the Finishing department and other departments as necessary. As new products emerge from the R&D development process, this position will be responsible for learning how to produce them, establish and document standard operating procedures, train other operators, collaborate with Quality Control to establish testing protocols and work with the Maintenance Department to establish maintenance routines. The technical nature of the work will require a strong background in electromechanical concepts. Albany International is an Equal Opportunity Employer including Veterans and Disabled.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
* Operating machinery to produce commercial and developmental products * Process Support and Scale Up: o Work with R&D to develop robust processes in support of commercialization of new products and processes. o Document processes and procedures. o Train individuals to run the equipment. * Machine Ownership: o Maintain work center and take responsibility for keeping machinery in working condition, with the support of Maintenance and R&D group. o Interact with Maintenance and Outside Contractors to achieve a failure free state. * Process and product improvement projects * Troubleshooting o Investigations will involve improvement of safety, quality, delivery, and cost. * Process and product improvement projects * Troubleshooting o Investigations will involve improvement of safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

REQUIREMENTS

Required Skills:

* Safety conscious

* Meet minimum physical Job requirements for the Finishing Department.

* Proven track record of taking ownership of equipment/processes.

* Experience troubleshooting equipment problems

* Must have strong oral and written communication skills

* Must have strong interpersonal skills to work with individuals and teams on a daily basis

* Basic understanding of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) .

* Understanding of electrical, mechanical and control concepts for industrial machinery

Required Experience/Education:

* Requirement = 2 year Electrical/Mechanical degree or equivalent experience.

College diploma Field of Study: Electromechanical technology
