Role Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Within Zoetis Tech & Digital, the Strategic Portfolio Management and Transformation Office has a unique opportunity for a portfolio lead who will be accountable for the planning, execution oversight, reporting and financial management of multiple discretionary investment (project) portfolios ranging between ~$4M to $30M in total.

Key accountabilities of this role will be to:

  • Oversee the financial management of all discretionary approved spend.
  • Direct the annual planning (DTAP) process for the appropriate portfolios.
  • Govern the execution of the investments within the portfolio.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all discretionary spend ensuring forecast accuracy is within tolerance, actuals are accurate, and approved spend changes are made in accordance with governance processes and PMO guidance. Ensure financial metrics including vendor costs, value, ongoing costs are being defined and targets met. Manage Approved Spend changes by project and track forecast month over month. Hold monthly financial review sessions to address forecast variance explanations, actual issues, etc.
  • Manage the Operating Plan process annually for a defined portfolio(s) within ZTD ensuring appropriate prioritization of investments and overseeing that the cost (execution and ongoing) and value of all proposed work is defined
  • Govern all work through the ZTD Enterprise Governance processes, including Portfolio Planning Review and the Project Review and Approval Board process. Work with partner organizations (Procurement, Third Party Risk Management, Enterprise Architecture, etc.) to ensure proper onboarding of vendors and tools. Ensure all projects have appropriately met readiness requirements and addressed any open issues prior to launching and spending funds. Ensure data in source tools (PWA, CPE, Op Plan Master, etc.) is up-to-date and of high quality to facilitate appropriate decisioning.
  • Monitor portfolio health, through dashboards and monthly reports focusing on execution, interdependencies, agreed upon KPIs and spend. Identify and escalate portfolio execution or financial risks, issues, and variances to management for prompt resolution, propose resolutions and define mitigations. Hold monthly portfolio review sessions to address status of portfolio from an execution perspective, ensuring agreed-upon value will be delivered. Ensure work follows the Value Delivery Framework including post-implementation benefits realization process. Be familiar with the stage-gate deliverables to provide guidance to execution teams relative to governance and quality artifacts.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in supporting PMO processes, portfolio/project management and portfolio/project financial management
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills preferred.
  • Familiarity with agile a plus
  • PMP certification preferred but not required

PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

May require domestic travel based on business needs; expect <10%

be located in (Colorado). Base pay may vary based on location and other factors.

Base Pay Range: $91,000-$131,000

The following base pay range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position if a selected candidate were to be located in (California), (NJ Remote), (NY Remote), or (Washington). Base pay may vary based on location and
other factors.

Base Pay Range: $96,000-$148,000
