POSITION PURPOSE

This position is responsible for assisting and facilitating efforts to continually improve and standardize business processes, identify and implement best practices, and establish metrics on the shop floor. The Continuous Improvement Leader works with both bargaining unit and administrative employees in addressing opportunities for continuous improvement and will be expected to apply the principles of Lean Manufacturing and data analytics to improve processes, product quality, and employee knowledge.

PRIMARY ACTIVITIES



  • Support the business through data analytics to drive targeted production rates and asset uptime
  • Champion, mentor, and facilitate the task standardization processes.
  • Communicate and support the ATI strategic vision, principals, and annual objectives across the organization ensuring course correction and alignment is continuously taking place.
  • Integrate leadership skills with Lean Manufacturing principals and expertise to guide and train employees at all levels of the organization in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
  • Develop standards for all aspects of an operation.
  • Ensure that appropriate and adequate training of personnel is conducted and maintained.
  • Identify and eliminate waste in processes and practices.
  • Facilitate 5S events and train employees regarding the benefits of an organized work space.
  • Facilitate Kaizen events and train employees regarding the benefits of a standardized and disciplined approach to the job.
  • Audit operations and processes for strict adherence to standard practices.
  • Assist in the resolution of production, equipment, and system problems, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Assist in the revision and development of standard work.
  • Deployable to various departments to support production needs

Basic Qualifications



  • A bachelor's degree in an engineering, technical, science or other related disciplines.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing setting
  • Proven ability to work well in a team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to teach others
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel and Word) and Internet applications
