ATI is seeking a Hydraulic Maintenance Technician to join our Richland, Washington facility. Our Richland Operation specializes in melting Titanium and Titanium Alloys to produce ingots for use in multiple applications in the Aerospace and Medical Markets. Our Maintenance Technicians are part of a highly skilled team that is critical in supporting production and ensuring equipment is operational to consistently meet production goals and customer needs.

To be successful, you'll have to quickly learn ATI, our manufacturing equipment, processes and products. You must be able to perform preventative, predictive, troubleshooting, and emergency maintenance on a variety of hydraulic systems. You will ensure that hydraulic systems are functioning optimally and safely through diagnosis and performance testing. This position will lead extensive repairs on hydraulic systems. In addition to work on hydraulics, you'll collaborate and provide hands on support for electrical and mechanical maintenance needs. You'll wear many hats in this role and need to be a master problem solver working individually and in teams. Collaboration and communication with all types of personalities is crucial for success.

As a Hydraulic Maintenance Technician, you will also take a key role in identifying issues, providing corrective actions and implementing process improvements and methods that will increase our efficiencies. You will be servicing various pieces of industrial machinery and equipment, industrial mobile equipment, and at times, the plant facilities. You will need to pay close attention to detail and stay organized to ensure accuracy, have mechanical, troubleshooting, basic math and computer skills.

This position currently works a Monday-Thursday shift consisting of 10.0 hours daily (overtime paid after 8 hours of each shift). This schedule subject to change due to business needs (may include 5-days x 8-hours, or the Dupont rotation schedule).

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Perform regular maintenance on hydraulic systems and machinery with the use of hand and powered tools
  • Interpret hydraulic system design plans, schematics and blueprints
  • Inspect hydraulic systems with diagnostic equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes and other test instruments to identify safety or reliability risks
  • Troubleshoot/identify/diagnose faults in hydraulic systems and equipment
  • Test repaired machinery or hydraulic system to ensure proper function
  • Lead replacement or repair of faulty hydraulic components
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong safety knowledge (including Lock Out/Tag Out and Confined Space)
  • Adhere to safety standards and protocols while carrying out all duties
  • Maintaining a record of all maintenance and repair work completed
  • Data entry/inventory tracking using a computerized data system, ERP and filling out various paperwork including work orders, safety and purchasing forms
  • Ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the work area
  • Operate Industrial Mobile Equipment including various sizes of forklifts, manlifts, and cranes
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, understanding technical manuals, and follow specific written instructions
  • Perform replacement on diagnosed faulty electrical elements of machine including motors, relays, and switches; and set-up sensing mechanism, utilizing hand tools
  • Read and understand required maintenance policy and procedures

Basic Qualifications



  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required
  • Previous experience operating Industrial Mobile Equipment (IME)
  • Technical school or minimum of 4 years of work experience as a Hydraulic Mechanic
  • Trade certification or Associate's Degree in Fluid Power Technology is preferred

Hourly pay rate: $28.34 / Hour - $42.52 / Hour
