Overview

The Premium Auditor I performs audits of low to moderate complexity, ensuring the accuracy of earned premium risk calculations. They investigate and verify premium base exposures according to policy contract terms, manual rules, company filings, and procedures. Interns will maintain a solid understanding of AmTrust's mission, vision, and values, and uphold the standards of the AmTrust organization.

Note, this is an hybrid internship out of our Cleveland, OH office location.



Responsibilities

* Develop knowledge and skill in auditing technical reviews of physical, virtual, and voluntary audits under moderate supervision.

* Examine and audit records to ensure that calculations of earned premiums for risks are accurate.

* Identify, research, and correct policy-rating issues discovered during the audit process. Work to resolve audit discrepancies and disputes.

* Validate that the correct classes are applied in accordance with governing regulatory agencies, independent state bureaus, and company procedures by reviewing financial records and other relevant materials.

* Review results of audits with producers, underwriters, insured parties, and Premium Audit leadership.

* Perform telephone and/or virtual audits as required.

* Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers throughout the lifecycle of the premium audit function.

* Stay current with manual rules, market trends, and demands.

* Work overtime as assigned.

* Perform other functionally related duties as assigned.

Internship Learning Opportunities

* Work alongside Premium Auditor I & II team members, learning Online Audits, Audit Reviews, General Audit Questions, and Dispute Resolutions.

* Assist with assignments and reporting to gain a complete understanding of Premium Audit from an operational perspective.

* Provide insights to State Regulatory Bureaus as well as Underwriting.



Qualifications

* Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Attention to detail and accuracy.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
