Your Impact
You will be based in New York, US but will work with the Corporate Tax team based out of India office. The team oversees the preparation of the firm's corporate tax returns in all the countries where it operates, together with the preparation of the statutory financial statements for the operations in those countries. The team also manages the corporate tax position, including our transfer pricing arrangements, and coordinates the responses to corporate tax audits.
This is an internal, non-client facing role to work in the US tax function comprising of 6-8 team members, which is part of Corporate Tax team. You will work with the non-US tax team on several tax-related matters.
The role for the required position includes the following:
- Handling inquiries from US Federal and State tax authorities, supporting state tax audits to their conclusion, liaising with colleagues and external advisers
- Managing the multi state and city indirect tax compliances (annual license renewals, gross receipt tax, property tax, rent tax etc.)
- Supporting our India-based US tax team in dealing with US State (direct and indirect) tax compliances, audits, payments on account, notices etc.
- Working with tax advisers to finalize the reporting and implementing the changes in tax returns
- Providing support to the US and Foreign finance offices on various tax matters (US tax forms, sales tax, vendor queries etc.)
- Handling IRS requests related to US tax residency certificates, exchange of information requests etc.
- Administering filing of quarterly estimated payments, extension request and payments, paper filings
- Coordinate with tax team for preparation of defence, responses and submissions for tax audits/examinations carried out by the tax authorities with support from external tax advisors
- Other projects as assigned on a time-to-time basis
This will be a part-time role (3 days a week) in the US office and will focus on managing US tax compliance matters as well as handling audits and supporting finance teams on US tax matters.

Your qualifications and skills
- CPA with 10+ years of US tax experience in US corporate and personal tax areas, with some international tax exposure
- Previous work experience in leading accounting practice or tax department of a large multinational group
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to drive projects successfully
- Initiative and desire to excel
- Capability to review the work of team members
- Proven track record of client service
- Ability to develop relationships and network
- Ability to handle multiple projects
- Ability to solve complex accounting problems
