Job Description:

Responsible and accountable for daily operation of Surgical Services office activities. Must accurately schedule all surgical procedures. Responsible for coordinating patient flow under the direction of the charge nurse. Maintain office supplies.

Job Duties:

• Accurately schedules patients for Surgery, Endoscopy procedures, Cath Lab and Pre-admission Testing, radiology procedures related to surgery/ anesthesia, and procedures in Labor & Delivery (e.g. C-Sections, Postpartum Tubals)
• Answers phone, takes messages, and communicates with others in a professional manner.
• Accurately enters implant information into the electronic medical record and enters Surgical, Endoscopy, and Sterile Processing charges.
• Identifies special equipment/staff needed for cases and documents on Surgical Schedule.
• Demonstrates ability to make decisions and problem solve independently and effectively (e.g. dealing with customer complaints).

Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED
• One year of experience in healthcare, surgical, and/or scheduling is required

Preferred Requirements:

• Working knowledge of medical terminology
