Essential Job Responsibilities:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance of the equipment operated by the company. This may include equipment owned or leased by the company and/or equipment owned or leased by third parties.
- Performs preventive maintenance procedures on company equipment on a scheduled basis.
- Complete daily, weekly and monthly checklists on equipment maintenance procedures and maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
- Assists and performs with installation, maintenance, repair and construction work in the basic building maintenance trades, such as carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, landscaping, carpet, and mechanics.
- Performs warehouse and/or terminal duties in connection with receiving, storage and distribution of materials as follows: Receives goods and materials and checks them against purchase orders and delivery documentation to ensure correctness of merchandise and proper condition.
- Responsible for maintaining clean and orderly conditions within the warehouse and/or terminal.
- Perform general grounds keeping daily; ensure disposal areas are kept clean and in a safe condition.
- May perform weekly safety checks throughout the facility to ensure a safe and clean environment for the patrons of the facility and to eliminate all hazards.
- Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required.
- Maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
- May obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts; orders parts as needed.
- Provide input to the company regarding specifications of the operational equipment.
- Evaluate maintenance programs to ensure they are accomplishing the intended objectives.
- Operate and maintain state-of-the-art passenger boarding bridges.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- 2-4 years' experience working in maintenance.
- Journeyman's License as a Millwright preferred.
- Valid CPR certificate required.
- Must have valid DL.
- Ability to obtain and maintain valid TWIC.
- Experience with computerized operating systems.
- Knowledge of safety and accident prevention codes and regulations.
- Knowledge and understanding of cruise terminal operations and maintenance desired.
- Required to observe all safety and health requirements for container terminal environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities: No
Work Environment:
- Must be able to work in rotating shifts, days, evenings and nights.
- Must be able to work in extreme outdoor temperatures of hot and cold, extremely dusty conditions and occasionally, conditions of high levels of noise.
- The ability to work in an environment that may be hazardous to persons unable to see and hear fast moving equipment
- The ability to operate various types of equipment.
