We are currently seeking a Human Resource Manager for our Shields Manufacturing facility in Tualatin Oregon.

Working in conjunction with the Director of Human Resources the scope of the Human Resources Manager is to provide Human Resource support in the areas of staffing, employee relations, compensation administration, benefits administration, HRIS, and other responsibilities as required in support of organizational goals. In addition, the Human Resource Manager is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management. The position serves as a point of contact on human resource-related issues. Communicating needs proactively with our HR department and management. The Human Resource Manager seeks to develop integrated solutions and value-added services to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization. The Human Resource Manager will ensure the accuracy and timeliness of tracking, analyzing, and reporting trends and variances. The work is confidential requiring an understanding of all policies and best practices, requiring expediting critical matters, and effectively interacting with all levels of personnel.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A bachelor's degree is preferred, and at least 3-5 year's work experience in Human Resource Management
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
  • Experience with full-cycle recruitment processes
  • Experience developing and implementing training and development plans
  • Be detail-oriented, organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality while possessing exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines with solid problem-solving and team management abilities
  • Enthusiastic, high energy, positive team player with a natural ability to promote positive work relationships with the ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and must be able to improve performance through management feedback
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and Outlook
  • Strong technological aptitude to quickly learn the organization HRIS and talent management systems

Responsibilities:

  • All regulatory compliance and reporting including maintaining applicant tracking database and other human resource record keeping as required.
  • Assist with Performance Management/Employee Relations issues/concerns.
  • Responsible for full life cycle recruiting for assigned location while maintaining necessary information in the recruitment system, and attending job and college fairs and other recruitment events as needed.
  • Ensure accurate job descriptions are created and post open positions according to policy.
  • Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate including providing day-to-day performance management guidance to management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Manages and resolves employee relations issues within the assigned locations. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the Director of Human Resources as needed/required.
  • Leads and coordinates all aspects of the new hire orientation, facilitating the new hire paperwork process and serves as point person for all new employee questions,
  • Implement/manage employee recognition programs.
  • Oversees I-9 recordkeeping and conducts audits to ensure compliance.
  • Conducts pre-employment background checks, including driving records.
  • Ensures timely communication to employees and management regarding available training and certification/recertification courses. Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
  • Ensures the timely certification/recertification of all .staff for CPR/AED, First Aid, as well as the annual re-certification of staff for Basic Human Rights, Universal Precaution, Fire Safety and Mandated Reporting.
  • Schedules required trainers both internal and external and works to set up new training paths and packages as needed for certifications and general training requirements.
  • Assists in the filing and maintenance of personnel files ensuring all employment records and certifications are maintained and in compliance including uploaded into HRIS system.
  • Ensure all federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, rules, and codes are observed.
  • Ensures engagement in the safety culture for all levels of personnel.
  • Facilitates and plans monthly safety training, and safety committee meetings.
  • Participates in the investigation of safety accidents/incidents.
  • Coordinates and facilitates employee HR events and/or clinics, and works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Completes special projects by clarifying project objectives, setting timetables and schedules, conducting research, developing, and organizing information, and
  • Other duties as required or assigned
