Data Engineer

Job Description

• Develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines for engineering and machine learning use-case using programming languages such as Python and SQL to support business applications.
• Define batch or real-time streaming data needs, evaluate data quality and extract data in a Big Data environment.
• Make changes as necessary to data science models to ensure accurate prediction that can be then consumed by the business stakeholders.
• Identify the data needed for a business problem and implement logging required to ensure availability of data, while working with data infrastructure to triage issues and resolve.
• Performs data analysis required to troubleshoot data related issues and assist in the resolution of data issues.
• Collaborate with data analyst, data scientist and other data engineers in the team to understand the business ecosystem, identify corresponding data needs, come up with technical documentation wherever needed and pull data into data warehouse that feeds business intelligence tools and data science models and helps in data-driven decision making across the organization.
• Support existing processes running in production and implement optimized solutions.
• Define and manage SLA for data sets in allocated areas of ownership. Bolster awareness, knowledge and conviction around data-driven practices and behaviors, increasing digital IQ of Business Units.
• Proactively raise data issues and take action to remediate. May telecommute. Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, or related field
