JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS Summer Academy for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Youth Program is hiring a part time American Sign Language Interpreter, to assist from June 23-30, 2025. Responsibilities: * Sign language interpreter will faithfully and accurately interpret spoken English to sign language and sign language to spoken English. * Operate in accordance with the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf's (RID) code of professional conduct (CPC). * Follow Summer Academy schedule and all the classes to which you are assigned. * Consult and collaborate with communication access lead and other staff as needed. * Consult with communication access lead on any schedule alterations and assignments. * Communicate as needed with Summer Academy management staff about any programmatic or student needs. Employment Period * Program Dates: June 23 - June 30, 2025 Qualifications * Certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) and/or National Association of the Deaf (NAD). BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.CAMPUS SECURITY CRIME STATISTICS Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
