JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS Summer Academy for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Youth Program is hiring a part time American Sign Language Interpreter, to assist from June 23-30, 2025. Responsibilities: * Sign language interpreter will faithfully and accurately interpret spoken English to sign language and sign language to spoken English. * Operate in accordance with the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf's (RID) code of professional conduct (CPC). * Follow Summer Academy schedule and all the classes to which you are assigned. * Consult and collaborate with communication access lead and other staff as needed. * Consult with communication access lead on any schedule alterations and assignments. * Communicate as needed with Summer Academy management staff about any programmatic or student needs. Employment Period * Program Dates: June 23 - June 30, 2025 Qualifications * Certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) and/or National Association of the Deaf (NAD). BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
