Responsibilities

Lead technical projects for OSD Strategic Capabilities Office (SCO). Conduct and oversee feasibility and military utility analyses for current and emerging SCO projects. Interact with Major Command staffs on current needs, the utility of potential SCO projects, and milestones needed to transition SCO projects to military services. This particular position will focus on designing and testing new hypersonic weapons concepts.

  • Facilitate coordination, assist program management, and support test execution of rocket-launched systems
  • Develop and manage overarching strategies and test and evaluation plans to meet program objectives
  • Work with program management, range leads, and supporting capability providers to develop requirements, communicate test schedules and progress, establish test milestones, and discuss test results
  • Lead teams to plan and execute full system-level test and evaluation of hardware and software, focusing on resource planning, ground and flight testing, issue investigation, and process improvement
  • Engage with civil and government approval authorities to obtain necessary test recommendations, certifications and approvals
  • Monitor and manage program progress across cost, schedule, and resource allocation, making tradeoffs that enable delivery of solutions to service partners quickly and cost effectively
  • Define key capabilities, milestones, and demonstrations to enable rapid prototyping and transition of military offensive hypersonic systems
  • Develop detailed communication products to inform senior department leadership of key objectives and technical and programmatic progress of prototyping and demonstration projects
  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition and test processes, standards, and requirements

Qualifications

  • Experience in hypersonic system design and testing
  • Familiarization with radar and IR sensor fundamentals
  • Minimum of 20 years of program management and analytical experience
  • Acquisition or government program management experience highly desired

Education Requirements:

  • Minimum of Bachelors in Engineering, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science or Science
  • Master's Degree (Preffered).

Clearance Requirements:

  • Active TOP SECRET clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI)
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
