V3 Sports is a nonprofit located in vibrant North Minneapolis, focused on elevating our community through wellness, fitness, and education! Thanks to our amazing partners, donors, and incredible community members, we have been making waves in Minneapolis, serving over a thousand families since 2007.

Founded as a non-profit in 2007, the mission of V3 Sports mission is to elevate our community through wellness, fitness and education. In 2024, V3 Sports opened Phase One of the V3 Center, a 40,000 square foot health and wellness center that will grow to be a North Minneapolis community asset and a regional destination. The focus of Phase One is to provide a place for Northside residents of all ages to access water, state of the art fitness equipment, physical rehabilitation and enjoy healthy and delicious food offerings.

Phase Two, which V3 Sports is actively fundraising for, will be a regional destination for sporting events, career fairs, community events, and other drivers of economic stability. At the V3 Center, Northside young people and families will access programming that supports their career and economic aspirations and builds the skills they need to make their dreams reality.

Wages and Benefits

$17.00 per hour; Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST). V3 Sports sponsors a retirement plan with a 4% employer match and immediate vesting.

Schedule

This position works during normal business hours as well as some evenings and/or weekends. This is a part-time position working 6-25 hours per week.

A Typical Day in the Life...

A typical day as V3 Sports's Lifeguard provides an opportunity to oversee the safety of pool users while they swim and utilize the pool area. Pool users range from individuals who are learning to swim for the first time, to strong and confident lap swimmers. Responsibilities will include the following:



  • Keeping careful watch to ensure the safety of all pool users.
  • Preventing injuries, eliminating hazards, and activating Emergency Action Plans/rendering emergency care as necessary within the scope of your training.
  • Enforcing all pool rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean swimming environment.
  • Working alone or paired with other lifeguards in an aquatic environment.
  • Managing traffic at pool entrances during peak use times.
  • Being knowledgeable with opening and closing procedures.
  • Attending in-services, meetings, and other training as directed.


Who You Are



  • You have the ability to lift and move 25-50 pounds, including pulling weight through water.
  • Must be a skilled swimmer
  • Must be physically able to rescue someone drowning or injured in the water.
  • You understand the importance of customer service and being professional.
  • You demonstrate knowledge of and/or experience working with diverse groups of people of all socioeconomic conditions.
  • You possess strong communication skills.
  • You have the ability to travel to sites within a 15-mile radius of the office.
  • You are a certified American Red Cross Lifeguard or have current certification with another national lifeguarding organization.
  • You are able to successfully complete a pre-interview skills test of a 200-yard continuous swim, two-minute surface tread without the assistance of your hands, and basic first aid.
