The New York Red Bulls are one of 30 Major League Soccer (MLS) teams. RBNY, one of the ten charter clubs of MLS, has competed in the league since its founding in 1996. The Red Bulls play home matches at Sports Illustrated Stadium (SIS) in Harrison, New Jersey. The three-time MLS Supporters' Shield Winners are owned by the Austrian beverage company Red Bull, for which the team is named. The New York Red Bulls offer one of the nation's premier youth soccer development programs, from local soccer partnerships across New York and New Jersey to Regional Development Schools and the Red Bulls Academy teams.

The Academy Assistant Scout is responsible for identifying talent through data analysis, video review, and live scouting, while maintaining accurate and insightful reports in the internal scouting system. You will support recruitment efforts by researching key markets, coordinating trial logistics, and managing communication among scouts and leadership. You will work closely with the Academy Lead Scout and Pro Player Pathway staff, the position ensures alignment in player identification, reporting, and the execution of development programs.

Due to the cyclical nature of the entertainment industry, the employee may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the company.

EXPERIENCE Your areas of knowledge and expertise

that matter most for this role:

  • A deep knowledge of scouting processes within soccer, backed up by relevant experience.
  • 1+ years of experience using a variety of performance analysis and video editing software.
  • Knowledge of soccer, former player or coaching experience is required.
  • Have an enthusiastic approach to discovering soccer players for our club.
  • Have excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Experience in statistical analysis is preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in scouting.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • You are required to work varying schedules including nights and weekends.
  • Travel 20-30%
