Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Summer Intern to support our Sales team. This role is ideal for a student pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field who wants to gain hands-on experience in sales operations and administrative support within a manufacturing environment.

The Sales Intern will work with a regional team of Account Executives (AEs), Key Account Manager, and Regional Sales Managers to implement the regional strategy and grow the company's market share. Key objectives of this position include delivering extraordinary customer service, building strong customer and co-worker relationships, supporting lead qualification and assignment, CRM data, and helping to uphold our position as the market leader. This position reports directly to the Regional Sales Manager.

Shifts Available and Hours:Day shift
Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and track sales opportunities, prospects, and quotations including follow-up after initial shipment.
  • Maintain and organize customer files, sales records, and communication logs in both digital and paper formats.
  • Coordinate with production and logistics teams to gather updates on order status and lead ties for customer communication.
  • Support the preparation of customer-facing materials such as sales presentations, product information sheets, and follow-up emails.
  • Track and compile sales metrics, reports, and pipeline updates using Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce, Power BI, or other CRM tools.
  • Perform general administrative duties, including scheduling internal team meetings and calls, digital filing, and organizing team huddles.
  • Collaborate with customer service, plant operations, and planning personnel to help resolve customer account issues.
  • Prepare and maintain updates, highlights, and special management reports as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university program focused on Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel (including formula creation and pivot tables).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a metal or manufacturing environment is as asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including customer service and plant operations.
