For a limited time MaineHealth is offering sign on bonuses for Clinical Nursing Assistants (CNA):

  • 0-1 years of experience eligible for $2,500 (full time)
  • 1+ years of experience eligible for $4,000 (full time)
  • Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time CNA position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.

Unit Bio:

We are a 30 bed Pediatric Unit at the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital. We serve the children in the state of Maine from birth to young adulthood. From routine check-ups and immunizations, to the treatment 10/2022 NC of life-threatening illnesses and injuries, we provide comprehensive, family-centered healthcare for all of northern New England. Here, children receive care that's as unique as they are. As Maine's only full-service children's hospital, we offer everything from well-child visits to specialized medical and surgical treatment of complex illnesses and injuries. We serve the children in the state of Maine from birth to young adulthood. We have over 20 sub-specialists of Pediatric Services. These range from oncology, general surgery, cardiology and many others. Prior pediatrics experience is preferred.

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurses and according to defined policies and procedures, performs various service duties and technical tasks such as taking vital signs and assisting patients with basic hygiene and activities of daily living. Specific duties may vary by area of assignment. Consideration of the special needs and behaviors of specific patient populations is required.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

1. Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.

2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Certified Nursing Assistant required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.

3. Experience: CNA experience 0-6 months. On-the-job training provided.
