National Council Internships

Internships at the National Council for Mental Wellbeing provide recent college graduates or current college students with a 10-week remote experience to grow within a professional area of interest. This internship is a part-time (20 hours/week) opportunity projected to start with a cohort at the National Council on Wednesday, June 11th and end on Wednesday, August 20th. While this position can be done remotely from anywhere in the U.S., you must primarily work our Washington, D.C. business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET.

Internship Responsibilities

As the Social Media Intern, you will help increase the National Council's online presence and promote its mission. You will work closely with the Social Media Manager to create engaging content and increase engagement across various social media platforms.

Content Creation and Curation

• Develop content for National Council and Mental Health First Aid social media platforms, including graphics, videos, and written content.
• Explore content from other accounts to reshare or engage with on the National Council or Mental Health First Aid social media pages.
• Engage with National Council and Mental Health First Aid followers and respond to comments and messages.

Data Reporting

• Monitor and report on social media analytics to measure the success of campaigns.
• Research social media trends and stay up-to-date on best practices.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Current student (completed at least two full-time years of undergraduate study) or a recent graduate (in the last six months) in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Communications, Marketing, or a related field
• Familiarity with social media platforms and their best practices
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience creating social media content, including graphics and videos
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Passion for healthcare and advocacy
• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Pay & Internship Program Benefits

• All interns are paid $20/hour.
• Remote work: We welcome applicants from all US time zones, with your knowledge that some required meetings and trainings are likely to occur in US Eastern Time.

• College Credit: This internship may fulfill college credit requirements in your college program.
