Overview

Our Enterprise Process Excellence team is on a mission to improve business outcomes and employee experiences by driving step-change improvements in critical enterprise processes, and the technology and analytics supporting these.

As a Sr Director, Business Insights, you will be responsible for developing and driving Waters' business insights strategy, leading the design and implementation of a business data strategy, architecture, and applications necessary to enable efficient and effective insights generation from data, business performance management, and cross-functional strategy deployment. In addition, you will be responsible for leading executive-level analytics. This will require you to lead a cross-functional team with experience in subject areas such as data visualization, analytics, and data engineering, while collaborating with dedicated, domain-specific global process owners to ensure that their work aligns with the overall strategy and architecture.



Responsibilities

    Lead a cross-functional team with capabilities in business analytics, data engineering, data science, and data visualization
  • Define the business insights strategy, data strategy, and data architecture
  • Define, implement, drive adoption of, and maintain the processes, applications, and analytics required to support generating and taking action on business insights, and deploying strategy
  • Provide analytics solutions to efficiently and successfully identify business performance gaps, accelerate root-cause analysis, and track actions to address underperformance
  • Support implementation of robust, high-quality executive-level analytics solutions
  • Work with leaders and teams across the enterprise to craft the design of solutions being developed
  • Deploy new strategies, architectures, processes, tools, and capabilities, supported with appropriate communication, training, and documentation to ensure full alignment and adoption
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the enterprise, e.g., with respect to data governance, and enterprise systems


Qualifications

  • 15+ years dynamic experience in technology, information management, strategy, analytics, and data engineering across multiple functional areas (e.g., R&D, Operations, Sales, Marketing, HR)
  • Experience developing data strategy and data architectures
  • Strong conceptual and analytical problem solving skills
  • Strong project management skills, experience implementing global programs
  • Strong influencing skills, shown ability to work across organizational boundaries motivating change and harmonization across a global organization
  • Results oriented mindset, operates with high sense of urgency. Consistent record of solving problems, breaking down barriers and delivering results ahead of schedule
  • Ability to think strategically while also being diligent to details
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Experience building and leading cross-functional Agile / Scrum teams
  • Product Owner and/or Scrum Master certifications a plus
  • Design Thinking experience a plus
  • Masters Degree in Computer Science or Engineering discipline
