Overview:

The nurse diabetes educator/coordinator is a health professional who is either registered or licensed by an appropriate accrediting body in her/his field. The coordinator is an experienced health care professional with a strong background in diabetes education. Certification by the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators is desirable.

Qualifications:

• Licensure: RN licensed in the state of practice.
• Experience: 2-4 years current nursing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing

• Preferred Certifications: Certification by the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators is preferred.
• Strong background in diabetes education.
