SUMMARY Mortenson is currently seeking a Lean Technician II that will assist crew leads and forepersons with applying Mortenson's kaizen-based continuous improvement approach to enhance work safety, streamline processes, and improve project outcomes. This position is remote when not traveling to construction projects sites requiring a minimum of 50%, or more travel. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner closely with project leadership to support continuous improvement efforts onsite
- Coordinate with project team to plan and execute kaizen events
- Assist and facilitate portions of kaizen events with expert support
- Reinforce continuous improvement principles and tools post-kaizen events
- Support forepersons in observing work, assessing adherence to standardized work, and addressing abnormalities
- Collaborate with forepersons to encourage crews to brainstorm and implement ongoing improvements
- Assist project team, field leaders, and trade partners in applying 5S practices
- Assist superintendents and forepersons in applying daily planning, work management, and learning approaches
- Build relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
- Perform all other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience as a Lean Technician I or construction field leader (Crew Lead, Foreperson, General Foreperson)
- Experience applying lean methods (e.g., kaizen events)
- Basic understanding of continuous improvement principles in various work processes and environments
- Excellent reliability and follow-through on commitments
- Ability to influence through relationship building
- Proactive self-starter with a growth mindset
- Strong sense of curiosity and optimism
- Effectively work with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
- Active listening skills and effective communication, open to diverse input and feedback
- Ability to work full-time on site in remote locations

The base pay range for this role is $30.14 - $40.67. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. Please make note:
