This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States. Preference is given to locations in close proximity to SVB/FCB hubs.

About the Team

We are a Product Analytics team reporting under the Digital Product Management organization for Silicon Valley Bank's Commercial Business Unit, which is a subsidiary of First Citizens Bank. We are building a highly reliable and available analytics platform that provides timely and actionable insights to our product teams, helping them understand our users better and exploring untapped opportunities to build and optimize SVB users' digital experience, thereby empowering them to achieve digital optimization and deliver high performing, sought after digital products of SVB.

Job Summary

As a Digital Product Analyst in the Digital Product Management org, you are responsible for analysis at the highest level of complexity and data expertise. You can translate business questions into analytics tasks, collaborate with internal subject matter experts (SMEs), build customized analytical solutions, customize data and ML models and provide actionable insights to relevant parties that answer critical business questions related to Digital product feature adoption, performance, customer satisfaction and revenue. You will participate in the design and delivery solutions (e.g., data profiling, understanding of various applications and their data landscape withing the bank, data sourcing [ETL techniques], creating analytics dashboards mostly on Tableau, creating data models, visualization schemes, etc.) to meet our org's analytics needs. Perform data analysis with attention to detail, rigor, and robustness. You can articulate complex issues in easy-to-understand ways, ask the right questions to gather necessary inputs, and are excellent in technical interpretation of business applications. You have prior experience or knowledge in how Digital applications in a Commercial Bank setting are configured and understand its data landscape. You are proactive and great at investigating as well as documenting how the data flows withing different organizations and are great at identifying gaps, proposing the right solutions yet building metrics as the solutions are being worked upon. You are great at following the intake process, prioritizing work, and understanding which tools are used for what type of analytics. You are a team player and may provide a leadership role for the work group.

  • Identifying Business Objectives - 20%

    • Interview the stakeholders, capture, and understand end-user requirements.
    • Effectively use tools like data mapping documents, specification templates, project plan or JIRA to capture and communicate stakeholder requirements and timelines.
    • Use the right prioritization and scoping framework to manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Data Analysis - 30%

    • Understand data life cycle across the digital product ecosystem, collaborate with cross-functional teams in business & technology to identify the right source and data definitions.
    • Perform data analysis on an advanced level, effectively communicating and directing the key take aways from the analysis output.
    • Effectively answer business questions from multiple stakeholders and support Product teams in making data driven decisions.
    • Follow the proper data security and governance guidelines while handling and communicating data insights.
  • Building data analytics pipelines - 20%

    • Design, ELTL workflows for repeatable, scalable, and automated solutions
    • Build data analytics pipelines, including quality checks, exploratory analysis, set schedule, set alerts, access control, and collaborate with enterprise analytics technology teams in production deployment.
    • Develop, use, and implement innovative analytical workflow and modeling approaches that capitalize on data assets, identify best fit data insight tools possibly including advanced analytics and data science models, such as LLMs, etc.
    • Project manage the design, build, and delivery of new analytical solutions with a pragmatic approach in evaluating multiple solutions.

  • Reporting and insights - 30%

    • Translate stakeholder requirements into customized analytical solutions and communicate insights via reports, dashboards, visualization etc.
    • Leverage a suite of tools like Tableau, Power BI, Quantum Metric etc., to build high performing and scalable analytical dashboards.
    • Maintain the dashboard repository and reduce redundant solutions by partnering with cross functional analytics teams and learning the various reports already available within the organization.
    • Contribute to establishing standards and best practices for the analytics org.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Analytics, or Modeling, or Reporting OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Analytics, or Modeling, or Reporting

Preferred Area of Study: Computer science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or relevant fields

Preferred Education Level: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or relevant fields with 6 plus years of experience. Master's degree is a plus.

Required Area of Experience in 5 or more areas listed below:

  • Data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI)
  • Advanced excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, Analysis ToolPak, macros/VBA)
  • Proficient in Oracle, IBM Netezza, Snowflake, Databricks, PostgreSQL, SAS, Python etc.
  • Analytics, reporting, data modeling, ELTL (Extraction loading transformation and loading), Proficient in PowerPoint to create insight walkthroughs to various teams including executive leadership.
  • Versatile in learning and picking up different software, tools, methodologies, or coding languages.
  • Demonstrated ability to create custom solutions that solve business problem.
  • Demonstrated experience in presenting reports, insights, and data analytics findings.
  • Relevant experience in data & analytics topics in consulting, client engagement, or project execution.
  • Willingness to learn and grown with a "Can do" and "I will figure it out" attitude who isn't afraid to fail.
  • Understands the importance of understanding business, products, data domain and landscape, design to scale and avoid duplication before building analytical solutions.
  • Proficient in SAS application, Tableau, Power BI, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio

Preferred Area of Experience:

  • Digital experience software like Google analytics, Quantum metrics etc.
  • Statistical software, or coding languages (e.g., Python, R, SAS)
  • Statistical or quantitative analysis (e.g., multiple regression, multivariate analysis, network analysis, AI-ML concepts and techniques)
  • Prior experience in data engineering with ETL tools is a big plus.
  • Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) algorithms, tools, customer/employee survey analyses, segment analysis and pattern detection, etc.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and stakeholder management across multiple business functions
  • Familiarity with project managements concept, such as agile practices
  • Familiarity with cloud computing approaches, such as IBM Netezza, AWS, Azure, etc.
  • Familiarity or hands-on experience with data science, machine learning, and AI
