Overview

Orrick currently has an excellent hybrid opportunity for a Business Development Coordinator based in any of our U.S. offices (Austin, Chicago, Boston, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Menlo Park, Orange County, Portland, Sacramento, San Francisco, Santa Monica, Seattle, Washington DC, or Wheeling, WV).

The Objective: The Business Development (BD) Coordinator supports high-impact campaigns and other strategic go-to-market initiatives aligned to the firm's sector-focused strategy. The role requires someone comfortable executing complex operational tasks, collaborating with cross-functional project teams and working independently in a dynamic, high-demand environment.

What will I do? The BD Coordinator will assist and execute a variety of day-to-day BD operational deliverables, including thought leadership campaigns, data management, and technology-led initiatives. You will provide project-based support for BD teams on various deliverables and work autonomously or as part of a project team to ensure that assigned tasks are completed to the highest standards.

How will I spend my time? You will spend most of your time on these responsibilities:


Responsibilities

  • Assist and execute a variety of day-to-day BD operational deliverables, including thought leadership campaigns, data management and technology-led initiatives, among others
  • Provide project-based support for BD teams on a variety of deliverables including, but not limited to lateral integration, event support, client targeting, practice collateral, biography creation and updates, among others
  • Work autonomously or as part of a project team to ensure that assigned deliverables are completed to the highest standards
  • Collaborate with Campaign Managers to assist with campaign coordination and strategic initiatives
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to strategic planning and decision making
  • Help assessing and piloting new technology
  • Develop advanced project management skills through firm training and independent learning opportunities
  • Adhere to all workflow and time recording policies and procedures
  • Ability to work in the office and travel as requested
  • Ability to work outside of normal working hours as required
  • Other ad hoc project support and duties as required

Qualifications

  • Experience: 1+ years of marketing or business development experience, preferably in a legal or professional services environment
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to balance competing needs and continually prioritize (and re-prioritize) tasks at a moment's notice
  • Time Management: Efficiently manage time to balance various responsibilities and adapt to shifting priorities
  • Communication Skills: Confident verbal, written and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate complex information effectively across a variety of channels to diverse audiences
  • Project Coordination: Ability to assist in planning and organizing projects with a laser-like attention to detail and a focus on efficiency
  • Team Collaboration: Espouses a positive, team-first attitude and works effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and facilitate smooth project execution
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively identifies opportunities for improvement and innovation and assists with the implementation of new ways of working
  • Supportive Role: Provide support to other team members, ensuring overall team success
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Education: Four-year college degree or equivalent experience required; marketing, business, communications, English or other related discipline preferred

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is:

  • California Major Markets* $ 50,000-$69,000
  • New York City $ 53,000-$69,000
  • National $ 48,000-$62,000

* California Major Markets includes San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, Orange County, Santa Monica. All other California locations fall within National range.

Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick's estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
