SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE Therefore, we are looking for an individual to scan Children's Hospital facilities using an in-house 3D laser scanner. The role will entail determining and placing the scanner in strategic locations in each room/space to maximize data capture. Training will be provided on how to use the scanner and accompanying software. Areas planned to be scanned include construction zones, hard to reach areas such as above ceilings, and functioning healthcare and professional spaces. The Individual must be comfortable with wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), working in tight spaces, and able to use ladders. Some flexibility in schedule is preferred to be able to scan sensitive areas during non-occupied times such as early morning or late afternoon. It would be up to 40 hours per week during the summer of 2025 with the ability to go to part time during the school year. The hours in general would be anytime between 6am - 5pm during the week M- F. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Using scanner technology to scan varies facilities in hospital setting. Adhere to the safety and quality program. Communicate with VDC Department regarding jobsite issues or concerns. Maintain and enforce construction site cleanliness for a safe workplace. Other duties as assigned. BASIC REQUIREMENTS In process of bachelor's degree in architectural, engineering or construction management or related field. Or, an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience. 1-2 Years field construction related work or experience preferred. ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Experience utilizing Microsoft Office. Ability to read floor plans with minimal amount of training. Ability to work independently and efficiently without supervision. Basic computer skills to communicate status and coordinate schedule. Basic customer service and communications skills. Must have proof of required immunizations as defined by Children's Hospital Policies and Procedures. Ability to travel to project work sites. Valid driver's license with clean driving record. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, crouch, bend and reach above shoulders. The employee frequently is required to use hands to manipulate objects, tools or controls; and talk and hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working in the typical conditions of a construction environment including seasonal variation in temperatures and the outside environment. The employee must comply with the assigned location PPE requirements including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate gloves, clothing and shields for required tasks and closed toed or safety shoes as required by the job site location. |
