Overview BigBear.ai is seeking a Site Director to support the digital transformation of an international customer's military readiness capabilities through the design, development, and programmatic leadership of a military readiness and force management platform. This position is required to be on site with our international customer. You'll be the on-site liaison responsible for the engagement with our stakeholder group and the integration of program concepts of an innovative platform that bridges cloud-based development with on-premises deployment, providing military decision-makers with unprecedented visibility into force readiness, resource allocation, and operational planning. You will also provide the thought leadership for a mission-critical initiative that enhances military operations through technological innovation and helps shape the future of defense readiness reporting and force management capabilities. As the Senior Project Director, you will interface directly with the end user community and executive sponsor to ensure the development team is properly focused on user-defined and prioritized functionality. You will also ensure the end customer understands development and delivery intent relative to project milestones. You will act as the intermediary between the customer and the development Integrated Product Team Lead to align schedules, maintain the deliverable cadence, and ensure customer satisfaction. This will require close coordination to balance customer expectations for functional progress and synchronization of delivery dependencies. This is a highly visible and extremely critical program for this customer. As such, the Senior Project Director must possess an executive presence and be comfortable liaising with senior government officials and stakeholders. They will serve as an intermediary between the Integrated Product Team and the customer and therefore must be adept at balancing the demands of the customer with the production team's progress. What you will do Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, resources, and budget Team Leadership: Coordinate the efforts of cross-functional teams including data scientists, software engineers, and UX/UI designers. Act as a liaison between the CONUS-based development team and in-country support personnel Stakeholder Management: Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and executive leadership, Develop and deliver executive-level presentations (as required) Executive Interaction: Establish rapport and instill confidence in executive-level customers. Risk Management: Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies Performance Tracking: Monitor project progress and performance metrics, ensuring alignment with project goals Resource Allocation: Manage resource allocation effectively to meet project deadlines and objectives Documentation: Ensure proper documentation of project processes, changes, and lessons learned Quality Assurance: Oversee quality control throughout the project lifecycle What you need to have Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business or a related field(Experience in programmatic environments would suffice for engineering fields of study, particularly if programs facilitated the establishment of foreign military systems, policies, procedures, etc.) Management experience: Demonstrable past performance of leading project teams for at least 10 years Executive presence: Acted as an agent of influence and consulted with executive-level leadership Agility and flexibility: Interfaced with customers and managed fast-paced projectswith an evolving set of foci Programmatic rigor: Managed U.S. DoD or foreign military projects Problem-Solving:Ability to listen to problems and develop creative and collaborative solutions Exceptional communication and correspondence skills and the ability to adapt to foreign languages 10+ years military operations, planning, or readiness/force management experience Deep understanding of military operations, planning, and readiness systems Conversational proficiency with customer's local language What we'd like you to have Experience with US DoD readiness reporting frameworks (DRRS or similar) Background in military force management or operations planning Knowledge of military unit structures and force deployment processes Experience with personnel, equipment, and training readiness tracking Familiarity with military decision support systems Understanding of joint/combined operations planning Experience implementing or using military readiness software Knowledge of foreign military organizations and structures Background in military training and exercise management Experience with military logistics and supply chain operations Familiarity with military IT systems integration About BigBear.ai BigBear.ai is a leading provider of AI-powered decision intelligence solutions for national security, supply chain management, and digital identity.
