JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State College of Medicine, Proteomics Mass Spectrometry Biomedical Core Facility in Hershey, PA is seeking a highly qualified applicant with expertise in proteomics mass spectrometry, including protocol development, library as well as some leadership experience preferred.

Position Summary: This position will oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and strategic development of the facility. This role involves collaborating with researchers, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality proteomics data.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the operation and maintenance of mass spectrometry instruments and related equipment.
Collaborate with researchers to design and execute proteomics experiments.
Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and timely delivery of proteomics data.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control measures.
Stay current with advancements in proteomics technologies and methodologies.
Manage the facility's budget, including procurement of supplies and equipment.
Provide training and support to facility users.

This is a limited-term position funded for one year from date of hire, withpossibility of refunding.

This position will be filled at an Senior or Principal Professional level depending on the candidate's education and experience. This position requires a Bachelor's Degree and 6+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional education and/or experience required for higher level positions.

Preferred Qualifications:

MS in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
Extensive experience with mass spectrometry and proteomics.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven track record of successful collaboration with researchers.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

  • Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$56,200.00 - $89,600.00
