ECU offers more than 87 bachelor's, 68 master's and 13 doctoral degrees to almost 27,000 students; attracts over $85M in extramural research dollars; and is #1 in North Carolina and #9 in the nation in online learning. The University's refreshed strategic plan - Future Focused, Innovation Driven - reaffirms ECU's commitment to being a national model for student success, public service, and regional transformation; a commitment that is evident from the actions of ECU's students, and 5,600 faculty and staff.
In addition to its Greenville, NC campuses,

ECU's athletics programs compete in
NCAA Division 1.

The Office develops partnerships with external entities that benefit the university and helps advance mutually beneficial innovation, economic development, and community engagement interests.
The Office of Innovation and Engagement is also charged with working with university and industry stakeholders to develop, implement, manage, evaluate, and continuously improve innovative non-credit educational services and programs that address current and developing needs of local, regional, and state businesses and industries in ways that benefit the University and support workforce development and regional economic growth.
The Office of Innovation and Engagement is supported through various funding sources including state appropriations, grants, contracts, continuing education programs, and philanthropic donors. The team includes 26 full-time staff focused on innovation-led economic development, entrepreneurship, technology transfer, startup incubation, and outreach and engagement partnerships across governmental agencies, business and industry, the military, and nonprofit organizations.
