Job Description

DDN's Engineering Internship Program offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with cutting-edge storage technologies and data infrastructure solutions. As an intern, you'll collaborate with experienced engineers to solve real-world technical challenges, contribute to ongoing projects, and develop practical skills in software and/or hardware engineering.

Key Responsibilities

Depending on your assigned team and area of focus, your responsibilities may include:

    Assisting in the design, development, testing, and deployment of software or hardware components used in high-performance storage systems.
  • Contributing to tools and automation projects that improve performance, monitoring, or deployment.
  • Supporting bug fixes, documentation, and feature enhancement for existing systems.
  • Writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code or scripts.
  • Participating in code reviews, design discussions, and team stand-ups.
  • Conducting performance tuning, scalability testing, or systems integration tasks.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including QA, Product, and Support Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Exposure to programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Go.
  • Familiarity with Linux environments and command-line tools.
  • Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
  • Interest in storage systems, distributed computing, or systems-level software.
  • Experience with Git or similar version control systems.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.

Bonus Skills (Not Required but Nice to Have)

  • Knowledge of storage protocols (e.g., NFS, SMB, NVMe, etc.).
  • Experience with containers (Docker) or orchestration tools (Kubernetes).
  • Exposure to system performance tools or diagnostics.
