We are searching for a driven, enthusiastic part-time intern to join our team. The intern's responsibilities include learning and developing practical skills of our existing technologies, performing technical assessments and providing recommendations, completing tests and assignments, as well as delivering presentations to staff and other stakeholders. You should be well-organized, flexible, and willing to assist wherever possible.

To be successful as an intern, you must have great time management and communication skills; and be willing to fit into the existing staff structure of our Cloud Services team. Outstanding interns are those who respond well to constructive feedback, build good relationships with colleagues, and ultimately make a lasting impression.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This role requires interaction with multiple colleagues, customers and vendor support, which may be face to face, over the phone, or via e-mail. The varied tasks to be carried out by the intern include:

Non-Technical



  • Building professional relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • Participating in Agile practices including standups and retrospectives.
  • Open to receiving and giving feedback.
  • Working in the office and remotely as required.
  • Assisting within the relevant teams, but also learning about other aspects of the organization.
  • Keeping a log of everything learned with expectation to present at the end of internship.
  • Ability to work in fluid, fast-paced and exciting environment.


Technical



  • Assess and learn the technologies associated with the platforms, including AWS, Kubernetes, and OpenStack.
  • Familiarity with foundational technologies including DNS, Linux, and networking; and observability tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
  • Awareness of current security and compliance frameworks, such as CIS Controls, NIST 800-171, GDPR, PCI DSS, and ISO 27001.
  • Utilize programming languages such as Python and shell scripting.
  • Use declarative configuration languages such as Ansible, CloudFormation, and Terraform.
  • Routine administration of day-to-day processes.
