Description This is a hybrid role with Monday and Friday as remote days and Tuesday-Thursday based at our Richmond offices or Petersburg plant. Phlow is currently seeking a dynamic and creative Marketing and Communications Intern to join our team for the summer. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced and impactful industry. The Marketing and Communications Summer Intern will support the Sr. Director of Marketing and Communications within the Corporate Affairs department, in executing strategies across digital platforms, enhancing internal communications, and contributing to various marketing efforts. The ideal candidate will be passionate about marketing and communications, possess a creative mindset, and have a solid understanding of social media strategy, digital content creation, and design tools. Requirements Social Media Management:
- Assist in the development and implementation of social media campaigns across platforms (e.g., LinkedIn)).
- Create engaging content, including text, images, , tailored to different social media channels.
- Monitor and respond to social media interactions, maintaining brand voice and fostering engagement.
- Track social media performance and provide monthly reports on metrics and engagement.
Internal Communications Posting:
- Support the creation and distribution of internal communications content for employees.
- Draft and design internal newsletters, announcements, and company updates.
- Help manage internal communication channels.
- Assist in enhancing employee engagement through creative communication efforts.
Design and Content Creation:
- Design visually appealing graphics, infographics, and other marketing materials using design tools like Canva.
- Digital SEO and Analytics:
- Assist with optimizing digital content for SEO to increase online visibility.
- Conduct research and analyze SEO performance using tools like Google Analytics.
- Assist with website content updates and ensure accuracy of digital information.
General Marketing Support:
- Support the creation of marketing materials such as brochures, presentations, and promotional content.
- Assist with event planning and execution for company events, webinars, or promotional activities.
- Support document and material trafficking through agency partners.
- Collaborate with the marketing and communications team on ongoing projects and campaigns.
Experience & Qualifications
- Current undergraduate student majoring in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- Proficient in design tools such as Canva or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital content creation.
- Strong knowledge of SEO and digital analytics tools (Google Analytics, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative thinker with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with digital content creation, social media strategy, and/or internal communications.
- Familiarity with content management systems and SEO practices.
Internship Duration: This internship is structured as a 30-hour-per-week position for the summer. However, if circumstances allow, we are open to extending the opportunity beyond the summer months and retaining an intern in a part-time capacity for the remainder of the year
