Requirements:

  • Candidate must have a Bachelor's degreein Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering and 2 years of experience in planning, designing, and improving manufacturing processes for commercial manufacturing.
  • Must have experience in:
    • Leading New Product Introduction projects including procuring and installing new equipment into established upright freezer/refrigerator assembly line sequences.
    • Utilizing Lean, Six Sigma and line balancing methodologies to develop projects that increase capacity of production lines to optimize production output and reduce operational costs.
    • Developing the sequence of manufacturing processes: materials flow, routings, line balances and assembly methods for operators, including the calculation of the standard hours for new products.
    • Drafting Workstation designs using AutoCAD to illustrate efficient fabrication and assembly of refrigeration parts/production.

Job Duties:

  • Plan, design, and improve refrigeration manufacturing processes for commercial manufacturing.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes for refrigeration products to identify opportunities for improvement of existing methods, sustained product, and operational cost reductions to manufacturing facility.
  • Utilize Lean, Six Sigma and line balancing methodologies to develop projects that increase capacity of production lines to optimize production output and reduce operational costs.
  • Determine the capacity of production and process while working to improve processes through application of lean manufacturing techniques to reduce waste, costs and increase the quality.
  • Manage complex routings systems through use of PowerBi, DOME, Ignition and Plant Simulation data analytics software.
  • Lead new product introduction (NPI) projects including procuring and installing new equipment into established upright freezer/refrigerator assembly line sequences.
  • Developing the sequence of manufacturing processes: materials flow, routings, line balances and assembly methods for operators, including th e calculation of the standard hours for new products.
  • Regulate and alter workflow schedules according to established manufacturing sequences and lead times to expedite production operations.
  • Draft Workstation designs using AutoCAD that illustrate efficient fabrication and assembly of refrigeration parts/production.
  • Utilize Visual Factory to simulate the development and deployment of production line installations.
  • Support the project team through the timely assessment and acquisition of tools tooling/fixtures, storage equipment, and material handling equipment.
  • Train and assist equipment operators and maintenance technicians on proper use and maintenance of new equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze processes and equipment performance for improved quality and uptime.
  • Build, use, and maintain PFEP (Plan for Every Part) database for product assembly lines.
  • Estimate production costs, cost saving methods, and the effects of product design changes on expenditures for management review, action, and control.
  • Lead cost out and cost avoidance projects to attain the VCU targets for the company.
