Job Summary Morrison Healthcare is seeking an experienced and passionate Executive Chef to lead kitchen operations at a 300-bed acute care hospital in New York, NY. This role is perfect for an energetic, entrepreneurial culinary professional with a strong background in healthcare and retail foodservice. The Executive Chef will report to the Director of Food Services and oversee both patient dining and retail food operations. Key Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and execute regular and modified patient and retail menus based on established nutrition and culinary guidelines Ensure food quality, portion control, and presentation meet company standards Train and supervise kitchen staff in food preparation, safety, equipment use, and sanitation Maintain kitchen cleanliness and oversee maintenance schedules for all foodservice equipment Manage food and non-food inventory to align with budget and ensure product availability Implement and monitor compliance with federal, state, and local health regulations Optimize the use of leftover food products in compliance with company policies Participate in staff development, departmental meetings, and continuous improvement efforts Maintain documentation such as production logs, waste sheets, and audits Champion safety policies and procedures across kitchen operations Preferred Qualifications Associate's degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent hands-on experience 3-5+ years of progressive kitchen or culinary management experience Strong hands-on culinary skills in institutional or high-volume settings Extensive catering experience a plus Experience in healthcare foodservice highly preferred Knowledge of food trends, sanitation standards, food cost control, and menu engineering Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Outlook, and internet-based tools ServSafe Certification strongly preferred What We Offer Competitive salary and benefits Career advancement opportunities with Compass Group, the industry leader in foodservice management Supportive, mission-driven work environment focused on patient care and well-being Access to ongoing professional development and training Ready to bring your passion for food and leadership to a healthcare setting that makes a difference every day?
