Position Summary

The Director of Pulse Center of Excellence (COE) is a statewide role that is responsible for the strategy and execution of clinical, economic and operational outcomes for services across the Pulse Heart Institute enterprise. The director will have accountability of overall regional operations within Pulse ensuring best practices and policies are aligned, developed and followed within all sites across MultiCare. This individual will be responsible for margin, growth and quality targets approved by the Pulse Board of Directors aligned to the MultiCare system objectives. They will be responsible for all functions of the practice locations, including operations, marketing, finance, assisting in managed care/third party contracting when requested, physician compensation and reimbursement information when requested, human resource management, medical and business information systems, ancillary service general knowledge and planning and development. This position requires leadership, collaboration, and communication. Work situations are frequently non-routine requiring a broad vision of the future of the health care; sensitivity to the values and expectations of medical staff, management, employees, patients, investors, and community constituencies, and the use of discretion and good judgment in decision making. External contacts include consultants, competing organizations, professional organizations, physicians, and regulatory agencies. Internal contacts include physicians, staff and management throughout MultiCare Health System and PHI, and require close collaboration and coordination with executives, PHI innovation and clinical quality staff, nursing and the medical staff. This is a position that is broad in scope and encompasses a wide range of Institute services, requiring organization and interpretation of information relating to a wide variety of policies and programs.

Requirements


  • Master's degree in healthcare administration, public health, business administration or related clinical area
  • Eight (8) years of professional or technical experience of which 1 year is in healthcare project management, strategic planning, driving and achieving system performance metrics or managing diverse stakeholders in a system-wide implementation in a health system or group practice environment
  • Five (5) years of managerial or supervisory experience
  • Experience in Cardiovascular Health environment is preferred
  • Consideration may be given to internal candidates not meeting the minimum qualifications

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $131,830.00 - $189,696.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
