JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Associate Strategic Communications Executive will work with the Chief Strategic Communications Executive to complete tasks such as social media content creation, media creation, and stakeholder engagement. The role has the following basic responsibilities:

  • Design and help publish graphics and visuals to be posted on the UPFB social media outlets.
  • Work with the executives of UPFB to discuss the design needs and elements for events, initiatives, and social media campaigns.
  • Develop strategic design plans with projected timelines for needs of the UPFB.
  • Be expected to serve as the student lead in the development of new brand guidelines with Penn State Student Affairs while bringing innovative ideas for reaching the studentaudience.
  • Maintain and update the graphic design request sheet.
  • Assist Chief Strategic Communications Executive on website management, newsletter, design creation, and materials to distribute to the media.
  • Act as supplemental support for the Chief Strategic Communications Executive or general needs of the UPFB.

Qualifications

  • Must be in academic good-standing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling messages for different audiences and channels.
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Suite to create visually appealing content for digital channels.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing comprehensive communications plans and event management logistics for organizations or events.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing techniques and social media platforms and their role in building brand awareness and engagement.
  • Understanding of branding principles and the ability to ensure consistent messaging and visual identity across all communications.
  • Commitment to the values of transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct in all communications activities.
