Senior Design Build Project Manager

The Senior Design Build Project Manager is responsible for leading a team and the projects assigned through all phases of construction in alignment with our core values of exceptional customer service.

  • Lead design-build proposal efforts, including RFP strategy, partner selection, narrative development, and interview preparation in collaboration with Business Development and Preconstruction teams.
  • Lead and manage project teams from conceptual design through final completion and closeout.
  • Simultaneously oversee multiple projects to ensure both customer satisfaction and company success, as defined on a project-by-project basis.
  • Lead pre-construction efforts for potential and secured work, including estimating, value engineering, and procurement planning.
  • Drive integrated design-build efforts by collaborating closely with design partners, clients, and consultants during conceptual design, schematic development, and preconstruction.
  • Serve as the single point of accountability for integrating architectural, engineering, and construction deliverables to ensure design and construction alignment.
  • Manage design review meetings, track design progress, and ensure timely delivery of permit and construction documents.
  • Implement early procurement strategies and fast-track scheduling to meet design-build delivery objectives.
  • Establish strong customer relationships, setting clear expectations around safety, scheduling, cost, and quality from project initiation through turnover.
  • Ensure projects are completed - including all punch list items - on or before the contract completion date, in accordance with approved plans and specifications.
  • Mentor, develop, and build the skills and competencies of project teams to enhance performance across all project phases.
  • Provide leadership in customer relationships, business development, estimating, preconstruction, project management, field operations, and overall team development.
  • Collaborate with Business Development and PX Teams to define estimate requirements, prepare proposals, and participate in client presentations.
  • Lead project execution activities, including project goal setting, subcontractor buyout, submittal administration, timely procurement, and consistent participation in Owner/Architect/Contractor (OAC) meetings to ensure alignment with project goals and client expectations.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills - able to lead client discussions and resolve conflicts with diplomacy

Required Skills

  • Strong negotiation and leadership skills for internal and external purposes.
  • Ability and desire to motivate/inspire/develop entire project team.
  • Understand accounting, financial statements, job cost, and cash flow.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of project management experience in the construction industry.
  • Involved with minimum two design build projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) certification
  • Lump Sum Design Build Public Work Experience

The full salary range for this position is $165,000 - $185,000. This position is eligible for a target bonus.
