Position Summary

Odyssey Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Network Services Specialist to provide expert-level support to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center's HNI Division at Hanscom AFB. HNI delivers enterprise-level C3I and network capabilities supporting over 110 Air Force, Air National Guard, and Reserve installations. In this role, the contractor will advise on and support planning, analysis, design, implementation, testing, and management of complex, secure networked systems used for voice, data, and video communications. The candidate will ensure compliance with rigorous cybersecurity standards and support continuous improvement of Air Force network services.



Responsibilities

In this Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) role, you will provide expert-level support to Department of Defense (DoD) programs by assisting government leadership with decision-making, planning, and execution throughout the acquisition lifecycle. You will apply your technical and/or professional expertise to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations, contribute to mission success, and help deliver critical capabilities to the warfighter.

Duties include, but not limited to:

    Analyze and recommend network requirements based on mission needs and future growth planning.

  • Recommend and maintain robust network architectures and infrastructures to support secure and efficient operations.

  • Monitor, assess, and report on network performance, workload, capacity, and availability.

  • Diagnose and resolve complex network problems across physical and virtual environments.

  • Recommend and implement backup, recovery, and failover strategies to support network resilience.

  • Plan, install, test, upgrade, and maintain network operating systems and communications software.

  • Ensure compliance with DoD information security and cybersecurity policies, procedures, and technical standards.

  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, systems, and application teams to ensure seamless, secure network service delivery.

  • Provide technical expertise in support of integration and deployment of networked solutions across classified and unclassified environments.

  • Prepare technical documentation, diagrams, network change requests, and reporting in alignment with Air Force standards.



Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Minimum Required Qualifications

Clearance: Active Secret Clearance

Education: BA/BS degree and 15 years of relevant experience, of which 5 years must be in the DoD, OR

  • 20 years of directly related experience with applicable certifications, 8 of which must be in the DoD

Preferred Qualifications

Clearance:

Education: Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Network Engineering
Years of Experience: 15+ years supporting DoD or government enterprise networks

Certifications:

Technical Skills

  • Expert-level knowledge of IP networking, routing, switching, and protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, etc.)

  • Familiarity with DoD network and cybersecurity architectures

  • Experience with enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios)

  • Understanding of network segmentation, firewall policies, and intrusion detection/prevention systems

  • Proficiency in Microsoft and/or Linux network operating systems

  • Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity compliance frameworks (RMF, NIST 800-53, etc.)

Interpersonal Skills

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and government stakeholders

  • Detail-oriented and proactive in identifying and solving network-related issues
